Shirley Emmons, 84, of Washington, IN passed away on September 21, 2020 at the Hartford House in Owensboro, Ky. Shirley was born on July 31, 1936 in Martin County the daughter of John Vertis and Cora Pearl (Chastain) Taylor. She married Clarence Emmons on April 1, 1961 and he preceded her in death.
Shirley was a homemaker and of the Christian faith and enjoyed her family very much.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Emmons, Whitney Gabhart; son, John Gabhart, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Emmons; infant daughter Valarie Jean Gabhart; sons, Mark and Greg Emmons; her sisters, Pansy Ada Gee and Alice Bateman, and her brothers, Ernest, Boyd, Hubert, and Herman Taylor.
There will be a private visitation held at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home and Shirley will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens next to her husband Clarence. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN is honored to assist the Emmons family with arrangements.
