An inmate briefly escaped from jail over the weekend in Evansville. Saturday morning the Vanderburgh Police said an inmate gained access to an unauthorized area of the jail by waiting for an employee to enter the building from an external door. The prisoner ran past that employee and attempted to hide on the jail’s property. They were soon found and taken into custody.
