Carol J. Miller

Carol J. Miller,86, of Vincennes, passed away peacefully at her home Friday September 18,2020 at her residence.

She was born May 15, 1934 in Oblong, Illinois to Albert and Mary (Cortelyou) Bailey.

Carol worked as a telephone operator for a few years then worked as a custodian at the National Guard Armory for 15 years.  She graduated from Oblong High School where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen. Carol was a charter member of the Wabash Cannonballs camping club. She and her husband enjoyed going on weekend camping trips with the club. They went on weekend trips, and special events like the state and national camping conventions. Carol and Ray spent the winters in LaBelle, FL for over 20 years until Ray’s health got bad.

Surviving are her daughters Linda Frisz and her husband John of Vincennes, IN, and Cheryl Barrett and her husband Jeff of Bicknell; her brother Thomas Bailey and his wife Pauline of Robinson; her sister in-law Betty Bailety of Robinson, IL; along with five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband Melvin Ray Miller in 2014; four brothers Frank, Pryce, Donald and Jerry Bailey; and her sister Ann Wiman.

Graveside services will be 1;30 pm Monday, September 21, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bill Loffer officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes.  Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Carol Miller.
