Officials continue investigation regarding the human remains found on Saturday

Officials are continuing their investigation regarding the human remains that were found in the Marysville area on Saturday. It’s in it’s early stages and forensic testing will be needed before a determination or identification can be made. No time frame has been given as to when these tests will be completed.

The Sheriff’s Office says they cannot currently link the remains to 73 year old Dan Grannan who went missing in August of 2019. According to the Washington Times Herald, Grannan had episodes of dementia in the past, but his daughter indicated he was fine the night of his disappearance. He left his keys and all personal items at home the night he disappeared as well. Grannan owned the Maysville Mobile Manor Trailer Court and served on the board of Zoning Appeals. He also worked as a trucker, security guard in the coal mines, and at one time owned a gravel haul business. The Grannan Family has been notified as a courtesy.
