A police K-9 will soon receive some new protective gear. K-9 Spike, from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, will soon be sporting a new stab- and bullet-proof vest thanks to a donation from a non-profit called Vested Interest in K-9s. According to WTWO, Spike’s vest was sponsored by Don and Misty Fike of Galesburg, IL. Each protective vest has a value of over $2,000 and weighs four to five pounds.
