Marion “Frank” Franklin Ropp

Marion “Frank” Franklin Ropp, 72, of Petersburg, passed away September 2, 2020 at his residence. He was born May 9, 1948 in Pike County to Ervin and Ruby Thelma (McGillem) Ropp. He married his wife, Linda Lou Ropp on July 29, 1967. Frank worked as a farmer and a Reclamation Foreman for Solar Sources for many years. He served in the National Guard and was the President of the Pike County Library Board. He was a proud member of the Pike Masoic Lodge #121, the Hadi Shrine, Scottish Rite, and the Petersburg Moose Lodge. Frank’s hobbies included being outdoors, antique tractor shows, and playing golf.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Amy Lynn Ropp; sisters, Barbara (Roger) Craig and Susie (Terry) Ferguson; cousin, Ross (Leslie) Elmore; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Ropp and his parents.
A graveside service for Frank will take place at 1:30 PM EST on Saturday, September 5, at Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12:30 PM at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg. A Masonic Service will be held at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital, Pike County Library, Walnut Hills Cemetery, Antioch Christian Church, or PAWS of Petersburg. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care.
