COVID-19 area update; 12 cases in Daviess, 15 in Knox, 1 in Pike

Over the weekend Daviess County reported some more cases of COVID-19 in the county bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 12. There has been one previously announced death. The Daviess County Health Department reports all of the cases are in quarantine.
Also on Sunday, the DCHD reported potential exposure at the Odon Chuckles located at 601 West Elnora Street in Odon.  They say a confirmed positive COVID-19 individual was present in the convenience store on Tuesday April 7th between 6-am and 8-am.  If anyone in the public was present during those hours on that specific day and feel you may have had direct exposure you need to quarantine yourself for 14 days from that date and contact your health provider should you have any illness within those 14 days. It is not necessary for you to seek testing for COVID-19 without first speaking to your primary health provider.
Also this weekend,  Ketchem Memorial Center reported Saturday that 2 of their residents of the nursing home and 5 staff members had tested positive for COVID-19.  The residents and employees are in quarantine. The center’s Facebook page notification said that they  notified public health officials as required and are following procedures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. They add they are taking every step as recommended by authorities to contain the spread.
Elsewhere, Knox County reported they were up to 15 cases in their county.  On Saturday they said the latest patient doesn’t represent a new population of concern as they were a contact of a previously diagnosed COVID-19 patient in Knox County.  That latest patient is in isolation and quarantined at home and will stay there until they are symptom free for two weeks.
Pike County reported their first confirmed case on Saturday. That patient was reported to be in self isolation at home.
